I have always loved the mountains, but since I started climbing, I’ve wondered why it makes me feel so good.

The reasons are different.

1️⃣ The main one is that while I am climbing, I am forced to stop the whirlwind of my thoughts to focus on one thing: surviving 😁😁😁.

2️⃣ Having a space where you disconnect from everything, especially for those who do a totalizing job like those in the music field who are somewhat “always on,” is another reason.

3️⃣ But the real reason why climbing (even in the gym, mind you) is a panacea for me is that it involves a constant effort to solve puzzles.

Which hold to take or which support to put pressure on, in what direction and how to shift the center of gravity: the variables are many and on a wall, with time available limited by your resistance (in my case, not much…), it is a wonderful live puzzle.

✨ When you work in live music (but in music in general), it is exactly the same thing: you have to make decisions quickly, with little data available, so the speed of problem-solving is a fundamental characteristic.

PS: That dot at the end of the rope at the bottom is Massimo, my eldest son 😉
